All My Compatriots (Všichni dobří rodáci, 1968) narrates a bitter story about what Communism did to one Moravian village. The movie begins at the end of WW II when we see friends celebrating the regained freedom. However, old totalitarian regime is swiftly followed by another, not so obvious one. Old friendships, ties and habits are destroyed.
One of the best Czechoslovak movies was banned by the Communistic regime. All My Compatriots won the award for best director at the 1969 Cannes Film Festival.
